All About Quartier des Spectacles
The vibrant Quartier des Spectacles district was first proposed in 2002. It features urban design elements—including tiered green space, lit fountains, bright lighting, bikeways, and misting machines. The Luminous Pathway is one of these unique, distinguishing features. Two rows of red dots light the sidewalk in front of each venue, a playful nod to the classic red carpet and Quartier’s Red Light era. Other features of the Luminous Pathway are architectural lighting, which is present on the facades of more than 20 buildings and sites, and architectural video projections, which turn nine building facades into screens on which artistic videos are projected.
